While light-colored surfaces remain cooler due to their ability to reflect heat, dark-colored surfaces are warmer due to their ability to absorb light. A similar situation is also applicable for cities. Dark areas in cities attract heat, making it feel warmer. Therefore, it plays an important role to use heat and light correctly in decreasing the negative effects of global warming on cities. As Betek, we aim to provide an effective and sustainable solution for this process with the work we do on exterior facades. Based on the fact that light-colored surfaces remain cooler while dark-colored surfaces warm up as a result of their light absorption capacity, we aim to contribute to reducing the carbon footprint by making the right choices in exterior paints in warm and temperate climates.
By providing the right color selection for the exterior, the Nature and Life Collection, together with correctly applied exterior thermal insulation, will contribute to saving up to 60% of the energy consumed for heating and cooling and reducing carbon emissions.
Betek Nature and Life Collection, consisting of four main titles, includes our themes of Sun, Forest, Sky and Earth. We aim to contribute to sustainable steps with the collection that brings together the calming colors of the sun, nature and sky.
• Advantages of using light color paint in warm and temperate climates:
• Objects painted in light colors remain cooler.
• They contribute to the consumer economy thanks to their low air-conditioning usage costs.
• Light color paints maintain their colors longer when exposed to UV compared to dark color paints.
Especially in hot climates, it is possible to decrease the temperature of cities and make a positive contribution to the global warming problem thanks to light colors that reflect light.
